first entry

"Mr. Linderman: You see, I think there comes a time when a man has to ask himself whether he wants a life of happiness or a life of meaning.

Nathan Petrelli: I'd like to think I have both.

Mr. Linderman: Can't be done. Two very different paths. I mean, to be truly happy, a man must live absolutely in the present. And with no thought of what's gone before, and no thought of what lies ahead. But, a life of meaning... A man is condemned to wallow in the past and obsess about the future. And my guess is that you've done quite a bit of obsessing about yours these last few days."

I don't watch the show heroes, but found this off a bulliten post from a friend on myspace. It made me realize that all I do is wallow in the past and obsess about the future. I'm always looking up quotes, trying to find inspiration I guess I would say, and I always come across quotes about enjoying where I'm at instead of worrying about the future, yet none of them really sink in. I'm always overthinking things and noticing things that don't even matter that it's like I'm looking for something, yet I don't know what it is I'm looking for.
I think people would find it odd how I'm always looking at quotes about life. I don't know why I'm always reading them and looking for them, but I think it's because it gives me a different perspective on life. When I'm sad I can go find a quote that's so optomistic and will make me in a better mood appreciating life. Yet also, when I'm sad I can go look at quotes that are so meaningful and full of sadness that it just makes me even more sad at the world. I think it's crazy how just one simple quote can make you so happy or make you want to cry. Especially ones that really make you think about them, what's the real message, not just simple words but the full meaning behind them. Some people might call it cliche, but I love reading quotes. Yet sometimes, maybe it's bad for me because I'm always looking for something, yet I don't know what.

Let's stop searching for a minute & just live.
